I am a graphic designer specializing in all aspects of book design, including cover and page design. I would also love to typeset your books, whether it be with my design, or a template or existing design that you have already in place. I am also available to manage other aspects of your job, including coordination with artists, photographers, printers, and other manufacturing. I consider my strength in taking your finished text and creating a beautiful, engaging, and exciting book, and just as importantly, an experience that is very time-efficient and worry-free.

I have a style that is very clean and consistent, and I am extremely resourceful. I take great importance in research, planning, and utilizing fun fonts and images to get the most out of your budget. My passion for technology helps me find the most efficient means of getting the job done for you as efficiently as possible.

history

I have recently spent four years as Design Coordinator with a small, non-profit publisher in the Twin Cities. For most of my employment I was the only designer on staff, which allowed me the opportunity to design almost everything in the organization. The majority of my work involved every aspect of designing 15-18 books annually, including cover, interior, typesetting, coordinating and acquiring photos and custom illustrations, as well as image scanning, retouching, and file preparation.

Mayfly Design was created by Ryan Scheife in the summer of 2007.
